First Baptist Missionary Church, Virgilina, VA was established in the year 1900. Its' beginning stemmed from under a bush called a Bush Arbor where the founding patriarch and matriarch saw fit to begin. It has been one hundred and twelve years since that beginning. During this time we've been blessed with four pastors: Pastor Simon E. Ragland, Pastor Spencer P. Massenburg, Pastor Joe C. Rone and for the past twenty-six years Pastor Lorenza R. Love. The structural view of the church has changed but we are still maintaining. Our congregation remains steady and dedicated. We have weathered many storms yet, by the grace of God, and his renewed mercies we're able to start anew each day, and by God's grace we will endure.
We have Sunday Church School each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m., worship service at 11:00 a.m. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sundays and quarterly 4th Sunday's (year 2012). During the month of June we have Vacation Bible School. In March of each year we have Family and Friends Day and our Annual Homecoming is held on the 3rd Sunday in August. Celebration of Founding Day is the 4th Sunday in October. The doors of First Baptist hang on hinges of welcome at all time, stop by and enjoy the followship and learn the Word of God.
